Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is the computer science society. Founded in 1947 as first society of scientific and educational computing in world. Its membership is over 92,000 in 2009. It is based in New York.

ACM is organized in 170 local chapters and 35 Special Interest Groups (SIG), through which it conducts most of its activities. In addition, more than 500 chapters of college and university. first student chapter was founded in 1961 at University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

Many of GIS, such as SIGGRAPH, SIGPLAN, SIGCSE and SIGCOMM, sponsoring regular conferences that have become famous for being dominant place for presentation of new innovations in some fields. groups also publish the large number of journals, magazines and newsletters.

ACM also sponsors other computer-related events around world as ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC), and has sponsored several other events like chess match between Gary Kasparov and IBM computer Deep Blue.

ACM Press publishes the prestigious academic journal, Journal of ACM, and general interest magazines for professionals in computing, communications of ACM (also known as Communications, CACM) and tail. Other publications in ACM are:
