Introduction

Political representation of children is a challenge for any theory of democracy. On the one hand, the welfare of children must be taken into consideration in the same way as other citizens and should be privileged because of their vulnerability and the fact that the long-term decisions will weigh as a priority on them. On the other hand, however, they possess neither the skills nor the maturity to be able to effectively express their political preferences (Philip Cowley and David, 2004, 57).

This absence is challenging, at least potentially the reality of universal suffrage. In contemporary democratic states generally do not suffer but face only two limitations, a requirement more or less flexible, citizenship and age criteria often set at eighteen years. Even if in fact it is not so the citizenship requirement should not in principle constitute a real obstacle to universal suffrage. This requirement helps determine who has the right to vote in a particular state but in return, every citizen should be involved in the recognition of basic political rights within a given society. The children find themselves stripped of all voting rights until their age criteria. Thus, allowing the children right to vote has become a major issue for the countries whether to go for the true democratic view or to restrict the children by giving a logical explanation that children do not possess the ability to choose the between right and wrong.

Discussion

The true democracy allows liberalism in the country and gives right to the people at every age and at every level to enjoy the freedom. If the voting power is not allowed to children it will ultimately wreak a democratic nation by not allowing everyone to enjoy the freedom. Without giving everyone the right to enjoy the freedom, the country would potentially feel that a bunch of laws is oppressing the youth. It would be unfair if they don't let their nation involved in the decision making (Philip Cowley and David, 2004, 57).

In many cases, denial of political rights extended to the entire population, it prohibits children not adults to participate in events to form associations or to join simply because of their age. This not only reflects the view that children are being weak and unable to make informed decisions without being manipulated by adults, but it also proves that even if the rights protecting children are widely accepted, their civil rights and policies are relegated to pariah. Civil and political rights for children are enrolled in various international laws. Convention on the Rights of the Child United Nations is unique because it includes a number of articles that protect especially the civil and political rights of children (Articles 12 to 17). The article 15 includes children's right to freedom of association and freedom of assembly, including their right to join or form associations. The right to assemble peacefully and to assemble freely with their friends in public spaces as well is included in the Article ...
