A person's socio economic status can be classified as A, B, C1, C2, D or E in decreasing order. A random sample of 60 individuals gave the following information on weekly earning (£) in relation to socio economic class:
The data set comprises of 60 individuals who have been classified according to their socio economic status and weekly earnings (£). Socio economic status are further divided into six (6) categories in decreasing order (A, B, C1, C2, D and E), weekly earnings and status of an individual are somehow inter related but for some individuals it has been observed that in spite of having high weekly earnings they belong to a low socio economic status. This could be due to several reasons as status of an individual can be affected by many means. The maximum weekly earnings of an individual was found to be 285 (£) whereas the minimum was 215 (£).

The above table shows the frequency distribution of socio economic status of the individuals. Only one individual belongs to the socio economic status of A, 5 and so on. Although it is a common perception that socio economic status is directly proportional to the earning of an individual, this is not the case in this data set because the factors that affect the status of an individual are not considered.
Compile a frequency distribution of earnings with intervals of a suitable width.
Data has been compiled in the below mentioned class intervals according to the weekly earnings of the individuals. Each individual has been allocated in the particular class interval to which they belong, let's discuss the first individual. The first individual has weekly earnings of 245 (£) with the socio economic status of B, he has been assigned to the 4th class of the class interval i.e. 239 - 250.
