Quote at least 3 statistics that really impacted you from these videos 

The first most disappointing figure from the video is about 43 million Americans are living below the poverty line (Cohen, 2011). Second, real unemployment rate which is 16.2%. However, government figures show there is 9.2% unemployment rate but they are not counting those who are recently unemployed and are in the queue of working. Third figure from the video which largely impacted is the 272000 dropped out people from the work.

Discuss the concept that poverty is getting worse in the US. What are some reasons given in the videos for this?

Poverty is getting from bad to worse in the United States. The real scene is also seen in the Sussex city, New Jersey. There are many reasons of poverty in the US. One, during the recession time, private sectors is demanding high cooperation from the workers (Gillespie, 2011). It means doing more with less. Hence less people are hired for the work because less people will work hard and give more productivity. Second, recession in the United States had compelled many companies to shut down their door. Resultantly, manufacturing sector had badly affected and jobs were disappeared. Third, policies of Barrack of Obama who largely supported the private sector by giving them tax money is not playing any positive role in the elimination of poverty or unemployment rate.

Although the statistics show that the unemployment rate is improving, why are there still so many people that have not worked and cannot find a job? 

During the recession times, government and charity organizations have taken special steps to work for the welfare of unemployed and poor people. In Sussex city we have seen that there are many people who are taking meals and other living food from the Charity ...
