Communication refers to the activity that is involved in the conveying of information with the help of exchanging messages, thought or information with the help of visuals, speech, writing, signals, or behavior. It pertains to the logical and meaningful information exchange between many people or a group. Communication may be defined as an act through which an individual receives or sends form one individual to another regarding the desires, needs, perceptions, affective states, and knowledge of the people. The process of communication might be unintentional or intentional or it may engage the unconventional or conventional signals, or is likely to take the nonlinguistic or linguistic forms. There are different media and channels through which the communication can occur. Thus, communication is the lifeblood of any organization and plays a vital role in its success. Working through verbal and non-verbal mode, communication is essential in listing to employees, solving their problems, getting the work done through them a d in keeping them motivated.

Face to Face
The evolution of technology has continued in various manners for the purpose of communication; this is done in the form of emails, telephone, and mobile phone along with the easy to use and cheaper Skype and social media which form the major part of the professional life these days. These forms have made the face to face communication the best mode for the purpose of communicating (Robbins, Judge, Millett, Boyle, 2011).
The face-to-face communication is advantageous because there exists a quicker feedback in comparison to the other types of communication. It provides the individuals a personal contact in the situations of critics or appreciations. However, all such communication methods lack privacy and no record of the verbal communication can be maintained like that of written communication. Moreover, an effective face to face communication requires good interpersonal skills. Long speech can bore people and it may be distorted by noise and external barriers (Robbins, Judge, Millett, Boyle, 2011).
Emails
The email methods of communication may be used for marketing purposes, intra-company communications, and collaboration with the suppliers, business partners, and customers. The emails method is less costly, and has more speed and lower overhead. It is almost instantaneous, and can also boost the communications through faster response by the receiver and quicker dissemination of information. However, the emails allow lesser social contact with people and the message contained in it may also be easily misinterpreted. Moreover, the professional language can be ignore and the instead the abbreviated language might take from of common practice making "typo" more common (Roy, 2010).

There are various advantages and disadvantages of the telephone conversation. The biggest advantage is the ease of talking, explaining and getting replies there and then.
