How I Made the Decision to Pursue a Degree in Business?

In today's highly competitive and rapidly advancing business environment, organizations need employees who are highly talented as well as hard working, and have sound understanding of business world. I noticed that almost all the firms currently ask their employees or the potential candidates to have a relevant degree i.e. a degree in their respective field of interest. This factor motivated me to return to school and pursue a business degree. I decided to choose a business degree as it seemed to be the best fit for business related jobs that I wanted to pursue in future. Furthermore, this business degree will provide me more chances to get a better job which will offer me more return than the jobs I would get without holding a particular degree.

A career in business administration will prepare me for various positions in the field of management, since my courses would help preparing me for work in business, government, as well as industry. This will also provide me training in variety of areas including planning, staffing, and administration, organizational and analytical skills. Further, eventually I will specialize in any filed I would find interesting including accounting, public relations, marketing, finance, and others, which will make me more talented person in my field. Moreover, a degree in business is one of the most sought after by the employers today, since it covers variety of expertise (Hunt, 2009). Curriculum of business administration will prepare me with special capabilities that employers seek. Hence, I made a decision to pursue a degree in business administration due to all these factors, i.e. greater opportunities of getting a good job with more advancement options, better earnings potential, and having a potential to truly enjoying my job.

Summary of Expenses Related To That Decision

Cost of tuition has changed over the years. In my first class total cost of tuition was $789.00, but a current tuition fee per class is $1,206. Over the duration of my schooling, tuition cost me a total of, $51,573.00; however, I received $5,500 in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013 from my current organization for tuition reimbursement.
