A systematic review is a method of synthesis of scientific data. A systematic review gathers and analyzes all the studies on the same subject, then synthesize. It is done according to procedures and clearly defined protocols to ensure accountability and transparency. In primary care, meta-analysis techniques can contribute to seek the best available evidence and make decisions about patient care. The meta-analysis allows summarized single numerical value for all evidence related to a specific topic. It increases the power statistical and precision of the estimator point. The meta-analysis focuses on the quantitative estimation of the parameters used to evaluate such evidence (Thomas et.al, 2010).
On the other hand, conducting Systematic Reviews is limited by the quantity and quality of previous studies. The systematic review and meta-analysis combines a robust methodology results from several studies with the objective of assessing the degree of evidence that exists to answer a research question on a topic (etiology, diagnosis, treatment, etc.)
Part c
The central aim of this article is to review and evaluate the effects of Otago exercise programme (OEP) on the risks of death and fall rates in the adult population. The literature of the article provides a detailed view regarding Otago Exercise Programme (OEP) and also evaluates the variables of adult mortality rate through available records and evidence. Moreover, with the help of evidence related to how the Otago exercise programme (OEP) affects the mortality and fall rates, a relationship has been formed regarding the impact of the programme on the health of older adults.
Since the aim of the research is to focus on finding the actual relationship between the variables, the researchers have collected data through clinical trials in order to collect reliable and valid data. The article also explores the compliance level with OEP in older adults. A total of 1503 participants were distributed into groups who were receiving OEP as an intervention.
Part d
The article reveals that the best type of study design to answer the research aim could be meta-analysis and systematic review. The purpose of the systematic review is ...
