Synthesis of Key Information
It is clear after reviewing the chosen credible source that the authors have the firm belief that decision making is a trait that every person possesses in abundance and that it simply needs to be developed to a certain level in order to become useful. The success of decision making requires a delicate combination of critical thinking skills, reasoning, calculation and prudence. Highly trained and competent decision makers should be able to resolve conflicts with excessive compliance since they have developed within themselves the skills and expertise needed in order to resolve problems. In addition to this, it is also true that a person who lacks the ability to envision different scenarios and paradigms is generally exceptionally good at decision making.
This article supports my thesis statement that effective decision-making is critical to the success of an organization. This is primarily because it explains how the decision making process facilitates the utilization of available resources for the achievement of goals and objectives that have been set by the organization. The negotiator will find lines of action that are available but which depend on the variety you find in the environment, together with those that offer the people and dealing with those that he himself will have to create (Lewicki, Saunders & Minton, 1999).
In the article, the decision-making process is also defined as a communicative process that entails the effective exchange of ideas and opinions in order to form a solid opinion. If each party cannot express their wants and needs in an appropriate and effective way, it will be almost impossible to achieve some goal. Therefore, Negotiations must determine not only the individual approaches, but also the general approach, the understanding and interests. Typically, a relationship that requires negotiation is to use another person to obtain a ...
