I played a role of a bilingual teacher in the presentation during the class. Before the role-play, I thought about how the role play could be done. I had different ideas to talk about during the role play. However, the most important idea was how I could help father Salomin and his son to acquire English language. In fact English acquisition is the main problem in my country. The role play would enable me to help students in my country. I had never done this job, as role play in front of native speaker was a new thing that I did in my life for the first time
My role as a bilingual teacher was effective. On the day of presentation, everything was good. My friend Saloman allowed helping him. He was a good listener. During my role as a bilingual teacher, we talked about the problem of his son in learning English language. I made many questions to ask him about his son, but during the role play of bilingual teacher I missed several question to ask him. I tried to control my nerves, and remember my questions.
I began my role as a bilingual teacher with the greetings to His son. My friend Saloman told me that his son did not like his school, friends and his teachers. I understood each aspect of his son's problem for instance, the background of his, his first language and his age. After acquiring all these information, I planned my strategy and I was aware of all the questions that I had to answer. However, during the actual session of role play I got little confused because of stage fright, as it was my first time, and I was nervous because everyone was attentive towards me. I asked him many questions about his son, and his answers were very clear. I put in my mind some words I cannot use them, but automatically I used some of them like, should. I suggested many solutions for his son, for example TPR approach, video games, soccer team, and short stories.
After role play, I asked my best friend Salomon for his feedback about my job as a role play. He provided me a positive feedback and he assured me for his feedback that it was really a good job done. After his positive the class presentation and feedback, I wrote this Reflection essay. This was my first experience as a role player as a bilingual teacher and I was little nervous during my class presentation. It is an effective session for people who have difficulty in learning English as a second language. When I will go back to my country, I will play this role for people there in order to help them in learning English language.
