Executive Summary

A marketing plan is a document concerning the core business activities formulated for the purpose of identifying the current position of the business organization in the market, and the future marketing plan of action for the period of time the document intends to cover. There are several objectives that a marketing plan should achieve. These objectives can vary from business to business and according to a particular product, service or specific market. Typically, a marketing plan should aim at increasing the awareness regarding the product or service the company intends to market. This marketing plan is based on opening a new business in the restaurant industry of Bristol in the United Kingdom. I will present the initial planning of the business in the given setting, keeping all the key areas of a start-up restaurant business in mind. This study will evaluate the potentials of opening up the new Indian restaurant and will discuss its viability and feasibility in detail. This will serve as a working business plan which will provide a realistic roadmap for the implementation of this project in Bristol. The marketing plan will carry out several key functions for the organization ranging from securing external funds for the business to measuring success and future potentials of the business.

Introduction

In conventional business practices, the marketing plan is written for the period of one to five years depending on the goals and objectives of the organization. The purpose and objective of making marketing plan is to, in simpler terms, identify steps that are to be taken to achieve an organization's business objectives and lay down the strategies through which these objectives should be achieved. Restaurant industry is a recognized sector of business in Bristol and provides immense opportunities for new entrants in the food and hospitality business.

Taj Restaurant is a 60 seat fine dining Restaurant with a 20 seat shisha lounge offer hookah services. It will focus on a typical Indian menu with a touch of Asian influence, together with the shisha that is its own exclusive offering. Taj Restaurant serves delicious cuisine of southern India to win at affordable prices. The grand thali and the Shisha lounge is the specialty of the restaurant. Consumers have a choice of curries with meat or vegetables. The restaurant will be fine dining in a cosy atmosphere of Bristol, which is heavily resided by Asian community. This community prefers to eat typical Indian cuisines, with much savoury delights that Taj Restaurant will offer. This will contribute towards the popularity and reliability of the restaurant and cater to the changing tastes of the growing Asian community.
