Motivational Differences in the Theme Park
Management of the theme park should make sure that their crew and staff members are motivated enough to perform the task at its highest level. Motivating each and every member of the staff is very difficult task. The motivation level of crew members and staff members is quite low in every organization, and it is the duty of management to bring it to a higher level. This is why productivity at theme park is low. In order to increase productivity and to keep staff members happy, the management should introduce extrinsic motivation. They should incorporate additional benefits in the compensation package and should also bring recognition programs in the organization. Management can also increase intrinsic motivation by arranging activities with motivational speakers (Marcic, 2005, pp.65-78). This is how staff can be motivated, and productivity can be increased. Intrinsic motivation plays a dominant role in the performance of an individual; therefore, it should be considered. Even if there is little extrinsic motivation, but if the employee is intrinsically motivated he or she will be an outstanding performer.
Motivation also creates personal satisfaction. An employee who is motivated will be personally satisfied when he or she performs. He will do his work with complete hard work and will also try to outperform others. This will create a competitive environment in the organization which will eventually help the company. The company will reap the benefits of employees being motivated. Thus, motivation plays a dominant role in increasing productivity and creating a competitive environment in the organization (Kriz, 2006, pp. 89-110).
