She used to smoke

In grammar, the expression used to employ is to utter and express in relation to the earlier period and concerning about the past reaction. It is not a tense but it is similar to a tense. It is a unique phrase. An individual employ and apply the phrase used to do for the past action only.

In the above mentioned sentence it refers to an action and doings that an individual (she) did frequently or on a regular basis in the earlier period or past (similar to a routine habit). Further, it refers to a state or condition that was factual and true in the past. Here she is a personal pronoun and subjective too .And used is the main verb (use).

An easy and plain sentence has one subject matter, one verb, and it states and articulates an absolute contemplation (or else acknowledged as an independent phrase). In the subsequent sentence the subject is italicized and the verb is underlined:

She used to smoke

I'm going to buy a new car

There are numerous diverse and special manners and methods in English language that one can converse and have a discussion in relation to the upcoming moment. In other words, he or she can utter on the subject concerning or depending on the future prospect. This shows that any particular action will take place in the future.

In the above mentioned sentence the auxiliary verb going to is employed in discussing and uttering in relation to aim or plan. In other words, it is right to converse that an intent or plan (intention) is a preparation or arrangement for the prospect and upcoming time that an individual have by now or previously thought about or considered as well.
