Feasibility Study

As it has been observed that there is a distinct lack of hardware and software engineering graduates from the UK, the company, PowerSoft Technologies, wants to develop and harness young talent in these fields. And this objective will be achieved through a CSR program in which PowerSoft Technologies would therefore, will be investing £25m for acquiring a site and building a modern state of the art school for the future for approximately 1000 students. The PowerSoft Technologies, as a sponsor for development of educational standards, would choose Wood Green, Hounslow, Croydon, and Romford.

Site 1

Wood Green is located in north of London, Wood Green is a district in London city, it is situated in the London Borough of Haringey. It's located 10.8 km (6.7 miles) from Charing Cross in north. This area is categorized in the Plan of London as one of the city centres in London. This area is chosen due to its population demographics and the need for school that provides software and hardware engineering studies with advanced technological concepts and practices for the population. The cost of land for building the school for 1,000 students at this site is approximately £9 million; the land required for building a school for 1000 students is 1,500 sq. Yards that includes place for activities and games (Loh, Dawood, & Dean, 2009). The building structure is estimated to be built at the cost of £13 million. Furthermore, the need for seminars and summer schools, given by PowerSoft's staff and making use of PowerSoft's research laboratory, library and other teaching facilities would cost £5 million. The total cost of the project at this site is estimated to be £27 million.

Site 2

The second site/area that has been selected is Hounslow, which is the main area in the London Hounslow's Borough. It's a developed area located at 17 km (10.6 miles) to the Charing Cross' south-west. It shapes a position of town in the area of TW postcode. This site is chosen due to its location far from the central London which creates a need for the school for hardware and software engineering as most of the big institutes are located in central London and nearby areas. Population demographics is another factor that is considered in consideration of site for the school; people living in Hounslow area are in need of school that provides software and hardware engineering studies with advanced technological concepts and practices. The cost of land for building the school for 1,000 students at this site is approximately £7 million; the land required for building a school for 1,000 students is 1,500 square yards that includes place for activities and games. The building structure is estimated to be built at the cost of £13 million.
