The case of Mary Jones that I have choose for this report is Public Drunkenness

Type of crime

According to (Bubany, 1974) Texas Penal Code Section 12.03 states that, “misdemeanor considered as someone broke the state rules”. It is a lesser crime that punishable by country jail time for one year. Misdemeanor involved, assault, petty theft, traffic violation, peace disturbance, drunkenness in public and public nuisances. Thus, from above state of law it is a claimed that the public drunkenness, also known as public intoxication is a misdemeanor that Mary Jones has been previously charged.

Crime Defined in the State

According to (Harper, (2013) Texas states define public intoxication in Sec. 49.02. Public Intoxication. (a) As, “a person appears in a public place while intoxicated to the degree that the person may endanger the person or another”. A person is might be commit the offense of a public intoxication being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Societal factors influenced

Public intoxication is public violence. Societal factors have tremendous influence of heavy drinking, and it is directly impacting on public health. In the United States, it is considered as the criminal activity while person walking on the street after drunk. Every single injury that is cause by drunk driving is totally preventable. The effect of drinks put teens at a higher risk than the adult drinkers because they did not know about their drinking tolerance, and it creates a high probability of road accidents.

Safety and security for citizen are always belonging to government; it is their duty to protect each individual. Officer Marconi is not required to take more than one professional by himself in order to arrest Mary Jones.
