Introduction

Management philosophies have been helping organizations create strategies and plans which have been tested in theory and hence are applicable on real life situations. These management philosophies can only be defined as a set of ideas that make up the best management practices, and can thus be standardized for others. Although these standard practices cannot cater to every organization out there, they have a true enough affect if the theory is correct. There are several differing viewpoints as to how best to manage an organization and it is naturally better to base organizational goals on one philosophy and try to follow it through. In this paper I will be analyzing one management philosophy while examining it in a comparative manner. Through this I hope to achieve a thorough knowledge of how one competency can work for a particular organization and how it may be altered to work for another.

Discussion

Management can be defined as being a particular art that encourages employees and employers to accomplish their personal as well as organizational goals. It allows them to see what steps need to be taken in order to achieve success. Although it may be argued that there is no standard way of doing this, as everyone has their own competencies and management practices, every so often there is one philosophy that organizations tend to make into their motto and they stick throughout the corporate culture. These philosophies may depend on the authority or managerial people at times, but if employees perform consistently the implementation of these practices can work in harmonization with the organizational goals.

In an organization, employees are expected to manage their own work, thus work in a systematic manner to resolve any problems they might come across. Communication issues that might arise would fall under the control of the management, thus a communication philosophy would need to be erected for the organization communication behavior to align itself. Often organizations aim to make proper guidance, leadership and a productive environment into their management philosophy. This means that they aim to focus their energy in HR and in hiring only the best recruits and specialized personnel are hired. They also aim to create a corporate culture that promotes their philosophies and strictly adhere to the theories of conflict management. Low performers in an organization like this would be provided with motivational factors to keep their morale high as well as encouragement on individual tasks. Since training and development would be a big part of this management system, each employee would be given particular attention and no one would be left out. However, it may be hard to cater to every employee separately and that may also induce laziness in newer employees who could take these opportunities for granted. There is a balance needed between the experienced people bestowing their wisdom on the new recruits as well as allowing them to make decisions based on their own intuition.
