Cindy Sherman works in series, typically photographing herself in various costumes. For example, in her landmark 1969 photo series full Untitled film stills, (1977-1980) Sherman appeared as B-Movie, foreign film and the film noir style of the actress. Sherman's most recent series of 2003 shows her as a clown. Although Sherman does not consider their work feminist, many of her photo series, as in the 1981 "Centerfolds," call attention to stereotypes about women in film, television and magazines.
