The purpose of this research is to elaborate on decision making process of caregivers of the patients with heart failures (HF). It is a grounded theory study which is conducted to evaluate how family members' caregivers of patients with HF take decisions.

Research questions

The study has an explicit research question which clearly enquires the purpose of this research. The research question is: “How do caregivers of family members with HF make decisions?”

Design of the study

The authors have clearly defined the design of this study. To make the data variation ensured, interviews were conducted from caregivers of patients with HF. The interviews were open-ended and were conducted at the mutually agreed settings. The interviews lasted for 45 minutes to 2 hours. The data was coded line by line by the researchers independently. Theoretical sampling of pertinent was sued to describe and refine the identified categories during coding. Validity was established by the use of triangulation method.

Evidence for Qualitative nature of study

The study is based upon the grounded theory which is the first evidence of the research being qualitative in nature. On the other hand, unstructured open-ended interviews were also conducted with the sample which is the evidence of a qualitative (Sanford, et al. 2011). Thematic coding of the collected data also indicates that the research is qualitative in nature.

Evidence for Peer-reviewed Journal

The article is published in Research and Theory for Nursing Practice: An International Journal which is a peer -reviewed journal. The journal is concerned with academic studies and the articles in the journal are written and reviewed by the field experts (Sanford, et al. 2011). The authors are affiliated with reputable authors and their credentials are included in the articles. The peer-reviewed journals are published by professional society, association, academic institutions or research association, and this journal is also published by Springer Publishing Company which is an American company that publishes academic journals and researches.

Conflict Of Interest and Financial Gain

No, there is no conflict of interest is shown in the articles and the nature of study is academic that is why there is no evidence of authors gaining financial research from the study.
