The article that is being critique is “Managing Deviant Behavior and Resistance to Change”. This article is based on the objective of focusing on how deviant behavior is managed and its resistance to change. In this order the author uses case study method for examining the practical implementation for change processes in some selected organizations.
The major aim of the paper was to discover how the changes affect the four aspects of the organization i.e., technology, employees, their strategy and structure. All of these current individuals with new challenges, uncertainty, problems and challenges and also threaten the status quo. It is a fact that Employees of an organization share common values, corporate culture and social gains can be challenged by changing the organization of the company. Change management must take into account these values ??and set up a listening device to identify collective fears in order, where appropriate, to communicate on the stability of values ??and current achievements (Brown, 2008).
Description of the Research Problem
The article relates that does the changes in the organization leads towards the deviant Behavior from the employees. This study aims to improve understanding of the role of employee engagement in the context of business transformation. This approach involves the introduction of individual assessment mechanism. A favorable assessment does not affect the commitment of employees.
It is a fact that changes have become an inevitable phenomenon in today's aeg of global and dynamic competiton. It has been observed that changes does not require to create a vision of change and communicate the same to all.thus, the policies on education, security of tenure of office and trainng are critical for the smoth implementation of changes.
Research Methodology
The qualitative approach has been use in the particular article to observe the changes and impact of employees' reaction and resistance to change. Research methodology defines the procedures that are used for conducting a systematic research. It includes an analysis of the sequential character of these ( e.g resistant thought, resistant feeling and behaviour) dimensions, from the effect that the variables related to the management of the change process (i.e., communication and participation) and to the change consequences for the employees (i.e., perceived outcomes) exert on each of these dimensions. The main conclusive data was the result of a thorough analysis of the material found online. The research involves analyzing the news postings on the web over a phase of years. The approach that is employed is reading the abstract or body of each publication.
