Introduction
Purpose of the Study
The purpose of the study, that is “Billing of Nursing Procedures at an Intensive Care Unit”, is to have estimation of billing of the procedures of nursing at an ICU. Moreover, the purpose of the study is also to know what amount of revenues intensive care unit produces through nursing. These phenomena are important to study as these concerns will help and guide in having more clear understanding of the nursing procedures as the billing concerns are vital and imperative to study. The reason of such statement is that through the estimate of billing, the revenues can also be recognized which guides towards the estimation of revenues of nursing procedures at ICU.
Problem Statement
The study particularly focuses on the estimation of the revenues nursing procedures make for every patient that comes at an adult ICU of a general private hospital in Sao Paulo City in two consecutive months that are May and June. Moreover, the study also focuses on the estimation of the percentage of total billing of ICU that corresponds to the nursing procedures in two consecutive months that are May and June.
Literature Review
In the selected article, no past the theories and studies are described which is considered as an important element of the research study. The reason of this statement is that these past studies or theories show the authenticity of the results as the results can be compared with the past studies. On the other hand, from the article, it seems that the guidance has been taken from past studies, but they are not descr4ibed in this article. Moreover, out of nine sources, six sources are from the last 10 years and three sources are from last five years.
Study Framework
The framework of the study is based on various variables; however, in the study six important variables are directly relation to the objectives of the study that are Billing from nursing prescription procedures, material, labor, billing from medical prescription procedures, material and labor.
Research Objectives
The research objectives of the study include the following which reflects the key aims of the study;
To find out what amount of revenues are being generated over the period from the patients at ICU.
To find out, what percentage of ICU billing through nursing procedures are being generated over the period.
