The research's purpose was to analyze the factors affecting cardiovascular and psychological health. The methodology utilized included 204 married individuals and 99 single individuals (male and female). The results found indicate that marital quality and marital status are crucial to the health. Higher life satisfaction and blood pressure dipping was found on married individuals as compared to single individuals. Lower ambulatory blood pressure, less depreciation, higher satisfaction with life, and lower stress was linked with higher marital quality. In terms of individuals who are having low quality marriages, single individuals experienced lower ambulatory blood pressure. This indicates that bachelors and bachelorettes have higher quality of health as compared to unhappily married individuals. Similarly, a supportive network was not a factor that moderated the effects on being unhappily married or being a bachelor or bachelorette. The findings conclude that marriage is not globally beneficial. The support and satisfaction gained play a role in the impact of a relationship. However, evidence states that marriage can be unique. The support gained from an individual's network is ineffective in the compensation of being single. The whole research signifies that there are complexities in the understanding of social relationships and their impact on long term health. Through analysis and research, physiological pathways can be developed in which relationships between the two can be clarified (Holt-Lunstad et al., 2008).
