Is Cesarean Section a Right Option or is it Just a Convenient Option?

Giving birth is a very challenging and difficult phase for a woman. Several women become frustrated and scared at the thought of giving birth. The stories of complications and pains they heard from other women makes them even more confused and anxious. Majority of the women often stress about the time they will go in labor.

Another major concern for women is the procedure of giving birth. Nowadays, most of the women are opting for cesarean section(C- section). The C- section is the most frequently performed surgery in many countries. There has been a considerable increase in the ratio of C-section surgery in the last few years. Most of the women give importance to cesarean because media highlighted this surgery in the most positive way and several celebrities like Claudia Schiffer, Madonna and Elizabeth Hurley have opted for cesarean section.

Cesarean section is a surgical procedure, which allows a mother to give birth through the extraction of infant from her abdomen rather than vagina. As an abdominal surgery, Cesarean section is sometimes preferable to the vaginal delivery path. Nevertheless, in most of the cases, the birth of the child took place through a natural process; which is the safest way for the mother as well as for the child too, even though the mother suffers from the extreme form of pain due to one or more Cesarean sections.

According to the Psychologists the moment of birth largely determines the future life of a man. At each stage of the childbirth, certain personality traits such as perseverance, ability to wait, endurance to pain, adaptability to the situation and faith in one's own strengths and abilities, are laid.

When the baby cannot pass through the vaginal canal, at this point of time Cesarean section is very helpful process in such complicated cases. In such a surgery, both the mother and the baby are at high mortality risk. At the very first glance, the Cesarean section is a quick and easy way to give birth to the baby as compared to the other surgeries. In this way, the births are more convenient, fast and predictable than in the natural way. The operation itself is usually painless, as is performed under general anesthesia.
