Introduction

The sounds and the songs we recognize as "rock and roll" developed from many diverse resources, in many diverse areas, and at several different occasions in 20th century record. The melody was formed—and carries on to be shaped and altered—by myriad individuals, some carrying out what they admire most, others looking for place of safety from what they extreme dislike, some looking forward to transform the globe, and still others refuses to go along with what they fear. Rock and Roll is a kind of well-liked harmony inventing in the year 1950; a merge of Black rhythm and dejection with White country and West side.

Rock and Roll is such a staple in American life that generally we do not even offer it with a second thought. When someone says something with reference to rock and roll, we think about the 50's and performers like Elvis who made 'Rock and Roll' a household expression, but where does the phrase "rock 'n roll" come from? What do the expression rock 'n roll denote? Why do we term it rock and roll?( Wright, 1998)

Some people assert that it approaches from sailors who employed it to portray the movement of a ship on the deep-sea. The rock is the forefront and behind movement of the ship and the roll is the harbor and starboard movement. Others assert that the expression is employed to describe movement of the sailors as they weighed the anchor. If the boat had been in harbor for a short time and the anchor was fixed into the sediment really deep then the sailors would have to rock and roll the windlass in order to mention the anchor.
