Are Alternative Energy Sources being the Answer to Ending Human Dependence to Oil?
Introduction
Oil is being considered the most significant energy source throughout the world. Oil is one of the main global energy and is used both as a fuel and for production of electricity. Oil is found from natural gas, fossil fuels and coal. It was discovered as an energy source about fifty centuries back and since that it has been used effectively. But the existing oil wells no longer meet the increasing demand. Oil will be in the coming years, a very important source of energy, but it is clear that we must develop technologies and energy sources that we can use our oil as efficiently as possible.
In the energy provision as well as the transport sector, the utilization of oil cannot be remained same in the upcoming days as in the current situation. This issue is highlighted because of the increment in the emissions of carbon dioxide gas from the green house which is very harmful for the environment. Renewable resources that can be the alternatives for the oil are focused these days and this concern has become a political analysis. The different countries around the world are planning to alter their source of energy consumption and play their significant role for the benefits of sustainable development.
Discussion
Oil consumption is n9ot only expensive but also seems to be very harmful for the environment as it negatively affects in maintaining a sustainable environment but still it is highly demanded. For this purpose, countries are finding ways to reduce oil consumption and implement some other energy sources. There are many there energy resources but still oil consumption ca not be eliminated. These sources are termed as renewable energy sources (Bundschuh, 2002).
The presence of fossil fuels is of significant importance as they worth providing services. The utilization of fossil fuels for the consumption of energy is not that much difficult but there are some harmful effects by them that causes problems in the society. These harmful effects cannot be neglected as human health is related to it. Emissions of carbon dioxide gas are produced by burning fossil fuels and the effect of greenhouse gas results in polluting the environment. The burning of these fossil fuels acts as the biggest contribution factor for the emission of greenhouse gases destroying the environment (Kowalski, 2011).
Renewable energy sources are those energy sources that do not affect the natural resources. Renewable energy, typically regenerate or be considered inexhaustible. In an interpretation of the short term the only sources of energy that are considered renewable are solar energy, wind energy, biomass, geothermal energy and the motion of the waves, that can easily be utilized and does not affect the current availability ...
