Introduction

Breast cancer is one of the leading cancers diagnosed in women. There are different techniques that are used to detect the cancer. This paper describes the architectural distortion in mammography and the difficulty in detecting comparing with other breast cancer in mammogram.

Breast cancer

Breast cancer is a human cancer. It is found in both men, and women. The prevalence is higher in women and the cancer has high rate of recovery if it is detected earlier. Unfortunately, the cancer is detected late in most of the cases, as the early stage shows limited to no signs and symptoms. Usually a lump or an abnormal mass is felt by the patient that raises their concern and brings them to the physician. Breast cancer is highly treatable and it can be completely cured if timely treatment is provided. The treatment depends on the type and spread of the cancer. if the cancer is not treated on time, it might spread in the surrounding tissues which can exacerbate the condition and increase the chances of patient mortality.

Diagnosis Of Breast Cancer

Early diagnosis plays key role in the cure of breast cancer. There are several screening tests that help in the diagnosis of the disease and assist the physicians to choose the type of the treatment that should be given to the patient. The chances of survival increases with this early diagnosis. The tumors are more easily treatable when they are small and nonpalpable. The different screening tests for breast cancer include the following:

mammography

ultrasonography

MRI

However in this paper, mammography has been discussed in detail with a clear view on the architectural distortion in mammography and how the problems are faced by the professionals in comparing the breast with other cancers in the mammogram.

Mammography is an x-ray by origin using low doses to screen the breast for the presence of tumors. It is considered as the best technique to detect breast cancer in women. Mammography is the best screening contraption open for unanticipated range of breast cancer. Unanticipated identification of breast cancer is earnest. The mammographic screening has been an effective technique in reducing the risks of mortality from 30 to 70 percent.
