Introduction

Transferring files on the Internet is a matter of routine. No routine matter, however, is the secure file transfer on the Internet. Data is transmitted over the Internet is often insecure protocols, proprietary information be sent as unprotected e-mail attachments and important workflows based on simple, self-written scripts that do not involve safety or error-handling mechanisms.
