Marlon: With the passage of time..uumm..when, I found I was 4 years old, I thought, I would never..aaa..I would never grew up. I thought that life would go on forever, and then I got worried somewhere in the middle year life is going away and I have not done this, I have not been here, I have not done that, and I have been denying that experience, I have denied myself that experience. I tried to go everywhere I wanted, tried to do everything I wanted, and..aa..now time is slower for me, it is very slow.

Interviewer: do you mind being sixty five?

Marlon: not at all. I am happy now that I was not in my entire life.

Interviewer: why were not you happy?

Marlon: I do not know. These are mysteries, questions that one can never answer. If I knew the answer to that then I would be the wisest man on earth, would not I? Why did I wind up being..aaa…an actor rather than a..a…scientist who is in..aa..I do not know…studying entomology or an animal trainer. Why did not I make that choice?

Interviewer: do you know why?

Marlon: no I do not because it was not financial because if it was financial then I would have made “a lot of money”, may be two hundred million dollars if I had saved it. But I had no interest in that.

Interviewer: you had no interest in acting in a movie after the movie after movie?

Marlon: no that is a waste of life, the waste of time. I do not find it stimulating or interesting..aaaa…it is not a consuming passion. You want to be in the movies?

Interviewer: No!

Marlon: why not?

Interviewer: I do not know how to do what you do.

Marlon: [laughs] listen everybody in his life is an actor. Nobody is going around..i mean..wake up in the morning and say “Hi how are you?” [Marlon turns his head and says to himself slowly] “You son of a b***h” [Marlon and the interviewer laughs]. People do not say what they want. How many men and women find other men and women attractive and pretend to be casual and just buff their nails? And you sort of get bored with the whole thing..and I am really in passion by that. How many times do you see a women wearing a really ugly dress and say “oh I am so glad to see you, sit down, please, god you are wearing such an ugly dress! Why did you get that dress? How many times have you done that? Never! You would have just said “hi mate, how are you? Come and sit down, Wonderful to see ya. That is acting!

Interviewer: I understand that. But what you are saying, what I mean is you…you have a special talent to become a character…
