Explain the ethical implications of a breach of confidentiality?

Confidentiality is the primary strategy that helps to maintain the commitment between two persons. It might behave negative, when this promise has broke due to some reason. In this study, the nurse Carol Hathaway promised to two young patients that she would not disclose their sexually illness with their parents. On some moment when girls diagnosed Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD), the nurse was unable to keep it private, and she discussed with their parents. The ethical implications of confidentiality are at the pinnacle that must assure to keep the information and data confidential. In some case, this confidentiality may not wealthy for the survivor (Holm, 2002). The breach of confidentiality in terms of this situation is effective because the patient aware with comprehensive information that may avoid if it would not disclose. The breach of confidentiality at some time is effectual, though it opponent to ethical manner, but it has provided complete information regarding any serious problem. Although, Hathaway has broken her promise and discloses the serious matter of patients with their parents. Parents would take immediate measures for the girl's treatment through this process. Moreover, through this breach of confidentiality the patient's life has saved (Holm, 2002).
