Introduction

This paper discusses how Apple Inc. has been successful in marketing its products effectively toa market that had been in a decline for a number of years. The paper would look to test whether the increase in iPad storage capacity can lead to an increase in the sales for the company. The idea is to conduct a research into the aforementioned thesis statement and finding out whether it would be feasible to increase sales of iPad with extra storage capacity. For the purpose of the research, we have developed a hypothesis that would help us in testing out statement.

Hypothesis

Ho: Is it feasible for Apple to increase storage capacity to iPad to keep sales high

HA: It would be unfeasible for Apple to marketin iPad with increased storage capacity to keep sales high

Data Collection

For the purpose of the research, it was essential to conduct an analysis of the information that is available on the internet regarding Apple's iPad and the reason why people choose to purchase the product. There has been a long-standing debate the Apple needs to increase iPad's storage capacity which is currently 16 gigabytes and 32 gigabytes. In order to gather data on the sales trends of Apple's iPad, figures were taken from Apple's websites, related blogs, ProQuest Database. The figures used in the paper are updated and represent the sales and trends in the year 2012. For the information on marketing strategies, Apple's own website was useful, in addition to scholarly articles.

Product (Service) Offering iPad

The Apple iPad Ultimate will incorporate the following features that will not be offered by any other company with the same type of product on the current market. It will truly be the Ultimate tablet that any consumer will want; it could one day replace your desktop and laptop computers. It will eliminate the need for consumers to purchase more one type of tablet to be able to any function that the consumer wants to do with the iPad Ultimate.

The iPad Ultimate will feature:

2. One USB 2.0 or 3.0 input/output

3. One Firewire 400 or 800 input/output

4. Express or 5 in1 media card reader

If the consumer can have all of the items or hardware on the iPad Ultimate than they will not need any other tablet to do the jobs or task that the consumer is looking for to help their life at home and work.
