Discussion & Analysis

Obama Administration Policy towards Iran\

Obama's current Administration policy is posing threats to the sovereignty of Islamic Republic of Iran. It is required, therefore, for the Iranian government to adapt preventive policies and strategies to challenge the existing U.S. government. American policy regarding Iran remains unambiguous. First and foremost, they are taking preventive actions against Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. A nuclear-armed Iran would severely threaten the security and stability of a part of the world crucial to the interests of United States and to the health of the global economy. It would seriously undermine the credibility of the United Nations and other international institutions, and seriously weaken the nuclear nonproliferation regime at precisely the moment when United States are seeking to strengthen it. These risks are only reinforced by the wider actions of the Iranian leadership, particularly its longstanding support for violent terrorist groups like Hizballah and Hamas; its opposition to Middle East peace; its repugnant rhetoric about Israel, the Holocaust, 9/11, and so much else; and its brutal repression of its own citizens. In the face of those challenges, American policy is straightforward. They have decided to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons.

The U.S government is countering its destabilizing actions in the region and beyond. And they continue to do all they can to advance their broader interests in democracy, human rights, peace and economic development across the Middle East. President Obama has made clear repeatedly that we will stand up for those rights that should be universal to all human beings, and stand with those brave Iranians who seek only to express themselves freely and peacefully. The simple truth is that a government that does not respect the rights of its own people will find it increasingly difficult to win the respect that it professes to seek in the international community (www.nation.foxnews.com).

Secondly, the existing president is also exerting pressure on Pakistan and India regarding the non-execution of gas line project with Iran. If Obama continues his presidency, he will not let Iran instigate the gas line project; as it would bring financial and economic benefits to Iran, which is against the interests of United ...
