Luigi Pirandello - Six Characters in Search of an Author

"Six Characters in Search of an Author” is a comedy with no room for boredom. Pirandello plays with theatrical conventions and so we must take the work as an exercise in style. It allows us to explore in depth. Pirandello gives us the loneliness of the individual. The fragility of the human personality and the impossibility of certainty, all combined in his gloomy vision that leaves us without any comfort, but is expressed in exciting situations that make us believe that we understand our dilemma a little better.

The cast of a play is confronted by the unexpected arrival of six characters unknown. The work will be tested is a work of Pirandello. The characters begin to narrate their own drama in the theater and try to convince the director to put their lives on stage (Lorch 2005, pp. 4).
