ANTIGONE

Antigone was a Greek play through which Sophocles tried to portray the issues that the leaders faced in running the affairs of the country during that period. It also tried to explain the power struggles within a single state that existed at that time, and often resulted in prolonged internal wars bringing forward death and destruction for the common people. These concepts exhibited in Antigone have drawn the attention of many writers over the centuries who have come up with their own versions of “Antigone” over the past many decades.
