This study introduces the issue related to mindfulness and integrates the concept related to mindfulness with the literature on counseling development. It also discusses the elements of mindfulness in reference to the experience in the present with reference to acceptance which is non judgmental. It also outlines how the skills of mindfulness can be applied to counseling practice and how the development of mental health takes place form beginner to expert.

Epidemological studies and DSM-IV have documented the disproportionate prevalence of gender related mental disorders. This study explores whether prevalence rate which is gender related differs from in diagnoses of counselor related to adjustment, mood, substance related disorders and childhood and determine if this diagnoses displays the same gender related disorders as reported in DSM-IV researchers who are not considered as counselors. The analysis of chi-square revealed that these disorders studied are disproportionate to the diagnoses rate in consistent with previous rate published as stats which are gender specific. Research and clinical implications are discussed which related to mental health are counseling.

The objective of this study was to study different mental health services which are provided in New York at the time of 9/11 attacks. The study describes the previous research and services related to studying disaster psychiatry which recommend practices for future disaster. The method used for this study was based on A PubMed search identified 198 articles since the 9/11 attacks that included New York City and either 9/11 or disaster, and either psychiatry or mental health. Acute services included debriefings and other single-time outreach interventions. Postacute phase interventions included community outreach with the goal of addressing normative psychological sequelae; multisession interventions based on evidence-based treatments, and hospital-based psychiatric services provided in the context of general health screenings for response workers.
