Analysis of Sound Design Amores Perros

Introduction

Films does not always matter so much of what viewers see. An actor who throws a punch to the face of another would fail if there would not be sound of knuckles hitting the person. Efficient sound design plays important role in the cinema; it is mainly used to attract the attention of audience (Matt, 1989). In this paper, we are going to analyse sound design of Amores Perros. For the sound analysis of this paper we shall use a song called "Si Senor" is used very effectively used in the film (Portes, 2005). The purpose of this paper is to extend the knwoledge of readers on importance of sound design. AGI is not a typical filmmaker. Unlike most Mexican filmmakers, he did not attend film school; in fact, prior to releasing AP, he was most renowned as a DJ in Mexico City. This part of his CV can be clearly detected in the use of music in the film, as well as in the strategy for promoting the film's soundtrack - both an “OST” and a disc of music “inspired” by the film were released. He also had a successful career in advertising, and both the languages and techniques of advertising can be detected in the film and its production.

Analysis of Amores Perros

Mexican cinema is on the rise. Amores Perros (2000) is the directorial debut of Mexican director Alejandro González Iñárritu. The film connects three stories in different urban environments. Each of the stories is about how people are cruel to animals and to each other and the somber of their lives can become. Amores Perros tells three stories: an impossible love / the collapse of luxury and wealth / and human sentiment behind misery and crime. The first story is of a young Octavio (Gael Garcia Bernal) who is in love with his brother's wife bandit. To get her attention, he tries to cash, and earn money using his dog - a good-natured beast, but with good fighting qualities. The second story is of the publisher Daniel (Alvaro Guerrero) and Model Valeria (Goya Toledo) affair, which developed into a serious relationship. Valery gets into an accident and received a serious leg injury how a conflict increases.
