ABSTRACT

In UK, different buildings and homes account for about 50% of the total consumption of energy and emission of carbon dioxide in the environment. The manner, in which a building is built, insulated, heated up, aired out, and the kind of fuel that is utilized by the inhabitants' leads up to the total consumption of energy by that particular building and; therefore, emission of carbon from that building. This research was focusing on analyzing the steps that the UK government has taken to reduce the emission of green house gases from the housing stock of the country. For this purpose, this research had used semi-structured interview, questionnaire, and secondary data collection to conduct research and analyze data. The research has discovered that the UK government has not been very successful at achieving their goals and they need to work on certain factors to make sure that they meet their target of reduction of green house by the end of the year 2050.
