Introduction

This letter aims to discus about past 50 years of American history. It includes the view of an American politician who is about to retire his political career. It aims to provide guidance to the future leaders and politicians of American. It helps to identify difficulties that American politician may face in near future.

Letter

I've led my life as an American politician. My career of politics in United States has been approximately about 50 years. I believe that it is my time to retire and give my place to future generation. I believe that upcoming leaders should have knowledge about pros and cons of politics. My aim of writing this letter is to create awareness about issues and threats that a politician may face in his or her career.

In my 50 years of politics career, I've played different roles from being a social influencer to a local citizen who wanted to improve the social, economical, political and technological conditions of the country. I'm thankful to all those people who have always shown their faith in me and voted to elect me in different positions. I'm proud to say that the hard work of American people has help to develop a society with highest standards of living. According to Mckay (2013), the victory of American President Barack Obama in presidential elections of 2012 was significant in various ways. United States witnessed low rate of growth along with increase in unemployment in Obama administration before 2012 elections. Many people perceive that the victory of Obama in 2012 is more of a surprising victory.

It would like to inform my upcoming politicians and leaders that politics is even more difficult as it sounds to be. Once you become a politician, your duties and responsibilities increase dramatically. A politician is responsible for the betterment of society as a whole. He is accountable to the whole nation. One important aspect of being an American politician is that you unfortunately become responsible for all the countries around the globe. As being a super power, America is responsible to monitor and control various actions around the globe.

There are large numbers of factors that you will have to deal with as being a politician. The future generation should be very well aware of the fact that becoming a politician comes up with a risk of security. You have to deal with local and international terrorists. According to Sullivan and Beittel (2013), the threat of terrorism is continuously increasing after the terrorist attacks of September 2001 in Washington and New York. Therefore, it becomes vital for politicians to make continuous efforts in improving the security condition of the country. The effectiveness and efficiency in improving law order system would help economy to grow in much faster pace.
