American History X

Introduction

Through the story of an American family, this film attempts to explain the origin of racism and extremism in the United States. It tells the story of Derek who, wishing to avenge the death of his father, killed by a black drug dealer, married the racist theories of a small group of right-wing activists and began serving his leader, brutal theoretician advocating the supremacy of the white race (McKenna). These theories will lead him to commit a double murder causing his younger brother, Danny, in the spiral of hatred.
