Cold War was a source of great tension between United States and the Soviet Union. The countries did not have an idea, when the other country would attack them. It was a non-fighting expansion of 1940s, when both countries wanted to avoid nuclear destruction due to war. McCarthyism is the act of making unfair allegations through unfair investigation techniques in order to restrict political criticism.
