In this paper we critique the article “American Abolitionism and Religion” written by Bertram Wyatt-Brown. In this article he investigated that throughout the three decades that preceded the Civil War abolitionism was a foremost component in the demise of slavery.

Abolitionism was an ethically grounded and uncompromised action throughout the 17th and 18th centuries.
