Simulation strategy pertains to impartment of learning through imitation of operational procedure in time. In terms of cardiac care, the strategy of simulation is very important. When it comes to nursing care, the fundamental problem lies with enhancing nursing care to a proper grade, since cardiology is the most significant genre dealing with human life and survival (Fitzgerald et al, 2010).

The problem

The study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of nursing care by implementation of teaching through simulation. The problem was to enhance nursing care standards in cardiac wards. The study is based upon assessing current standards. It adds value to nursing care in cardiac wards. It attempts to align nursing care with cardiac wards requirements (Wilson & Klien, 2012).

The purpose

The purpose of the study is to enhance nursing care in cardiac wards. The idea is to enhance nursing care standards in cardiac ward. The study investigates factors that affect nursing care in cardiac wards. It quantifies the effectiveness of teaching through simulation. The purpose of the study is to assess the effectiveness of simulation strategy for nursing care enhancement in cardiac wards.

Research question

The question raises the point of enhancing nursing care standards to a required level through simulation. The question reviews how effective simulation is, as a teaching strategy. The question quantifies the effectiveness of nursing care with induction of simulation strategy. The paper encompasses of measuring nursing care enhancement through simulation teaching. It accounts the significance of nursing care in cardiac wards (NCSBN, 2009).

Study design

The study is based upon qualitative measures. The dependent variable is effectiveness of nursing care, whereas, the independent variable is the induction of simulation as a teaching strategy in cardiac wards. The study quantifies the results of nursing care before introduction of respective strategy, as well as, after the process of simulation (Lasaster, 2007).

Theoretical basis for the study

The basis for the study encompasses of quantifying the effectiveness of simulation strategy for enhancing nursing care in cardiac wards. The paper discusses the effectiveness of simulation in healthcare. In terms of healthcare, simulation strategy is very important and fundamental. It has been proved as the most effective strategy for developing quality workforce in healthcare operations and management. These basis are provided by (Wills and Mceven, 2010).

Nursing: A Lifelong Learning Opportunity in Today's World

Introduction

The essay focuses on those learning opportunities that the profession of nursing is providing to young people who may wish to pursue it. In my personal response to the subject matter, the essay outlines the attributes and personal qualities that can be useful while preparing for the profession of nursing. Furthermore, the essay discusses the possible impact of graduate degree on my future career goals in aligned with self-driven definitions of certain terminologies.

Discussion

Since the creation of this world, man has been striving to explore the hidden secrets of this universe. In the field of medical and biological sciences, evolution came around the professional practitioners and care providers who were commonly known as nurses and were required to assist professional doctors. However, the evolution process and the theme of globalization brought changes in the world’s perspective of nursing which is now seen as an emerging profession with tremendous learning opportunities.

Nursing is a profession that will require close contact between the recipient of care and the nurse. A nurse shall be compassionate and committed to the profession with empathy and emotional stability that will enable one to deal with uncertain or unanticipated outcomes (Nursegroups, 2013). Major attributes that can lead effective preparation for nursing will include communication skills with patience to listen; flexibility to manage the responsibilities of caring, physical endurance to perform numerous taxing maneuvers as a typical work. Personal attributes and qualities that will require development might be quick response, respect for others, problem solving and decision making skills with good attention to details. Additionally, the preparation for the nursing profession will require a graduate degree in nursing with physical and mental fitness (Sivamalai, 2008).

Cultural competence is one of the essential tools for effective professional practices that state the skill and ability of a nurse to effectually address the healthcare needs of patients and individuals with varied cultural values and beliefs (Scheckel, 2009). A trained nurse will be someone who has the ability to interpret the situation to determine who is being involved, actions that shall be taken and the possible outcomes and reactions that may ensue. To put it other way, a professional nurse will have ethical sensitivity that will enable him to take correction actions and mange the uncertain situations in the best possible way (Narvaez et. al., 2001).

The profession of nursing provides enormous opportunities of leadership that may lead to a process of lifelong learning. In a practical world, nurses are working in partnership with other carers, patients and their relatives. Introduction

Nursing is a profession, which has evolved with the passage of time and has made its place as a renowned working profession. In the US, nursing profession has advanced in the discipline of education as well as practice. There are two prominent degree programs in the field of nursing including BSN and ADN, which prepare a nurse to skillfully manage clinical treatments, medication and take morally accurate decision making.

The paper focuses on the level of competencies, which a person may acquire from each of these degree programs, and the extent to which these programs offer distinguished skills to earn a registered nursing diploma. The paper compares the two degree programs in nursing by elaborating a patient care situation and the role played by the practitioners of the two degree holders.

Discussion

Nursing is a profession, which is closely associated with the world of humanity, where it can be found in one form or another. It is a profession that has transformed from a home clinic to highly equipped medical institutions such as hospitals and nursing care homes, where professionally trained practitioners are available to serve people, who are fighting with chronic. According to Rosseter (2012), presence of a well educated working force may ensure quality care of patients. In the US, this profession is highly admired by youngsters and according to the estimates of National Sample Survey of Registered Nurses (2008), with more than 3 million registered nurses nursing has become the largest healthcare profession of the nation.

Among this RN workforce, 13.9% are the holder of associate degree in nursing while 50% of this workforce has earned a baccalaureate degree in nursing (Rosseter, 2012). However, the two nursing programs offer varied skills to become an expert healthcare professional.

Baccalaureate Degree Nursing (BSN) Program

The BSN program offers an in-depth understanding of the nursing profession, the environment, healing and health and people as diverse individuals, communities, populations and families. Core competencies acquired through this program are the skills of clinical judgment, problem solving skills, critical thinking, and ability to take smart decisions (Texas Board of Nursing, 2011). BSN graduates aspire to acquire, improve and practice skills, which can promote quality care of patients.

Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Program

The ADN program is comprised of two years of course duration, in which a nursing student is prepared to apply evidence-based findings and theoretical content in stipulating nursing care. It provides opportunities to develop clinical experience by applying clinical judgment and nursing knowledge in the healthcare setting. It enriches a student with basic knowledge and learning of nursing care supervisions and prepares them for RNP entry level examination. Major competencies of ADN students are basic knowledge of nursing provisions, skills of clinical judgment and ability to treat individuals with varied behaviors (Texas Board of Nursing, 2011).
