Allstate Insurance Company

Introduction

Avery and Fellag and an article called “Prudential Finance Regime” share almost the same idea of how one particular company used decision-making as a business process for gaining more customers and increasing their income. In paragraph 4 Avery and Fellag state, “…business processes, such as decision-making…” (2006). According to this statement, decision-making is a process that gives the employees many choices to increase the company's profits, and it is all about making good decisions. Allstate Company increased the number of customers by using good decision-making strategies. Also, by this strategy, the company witnessed full satisfaction from the markets. The 2008 anonymous informative article “Prudential Finance Regime” on the website www3.camden.gov.uk, define in a neutral tone how companies use decision making as a process to solve problems, provides evidence to support this point of Avery and Fellag. According to this article, the company uses an easy system for having full control of their business. This system uses codes that have information on how to process financial papers. Workers use decision-making practices to make good decisions, based on the code. When they can get full control of these codes and use them properly, they can apply them to their financial decision-making.

Discussion

However, my investigation shows that maybe some of Avery and Fellag's point can be challenged. Specifically, my research shows that there are many problems with Avery and Fellag's information. In paragraph 4, Avery and Fellag explain that the Allstate Company has greater levels of customer satisfaction, “…greater levels of customer satisfaction…” (2006). Through research, I believe I have proof to dispute this claim of Avery and Fellag. In view of this claim, I do not suggest that Avery and Fellag are mistaken. Instead, I think they define it in an incomplete way. They informed the reader that the Allstate Company used diversity for having better objectives, and used decision making as a business practice to raise the customer satisfaction of their clients. However, they did not inform us about many customers who suggested that Allstate could not make their customers satisfied. According to the 2002 Charles Wolrich persuasive article “Allstate Insurance” on the website www.forbes.com, which defines in a sarcastic tone the lack of progress of the company, there is evidence that the company could not do its job in a good way.
