The purpose of writing this research paper is to find out the real threats posed by the Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM). After a thorough, it is observed that AQIM in the North Africa is going to be famous on each passing day because of its strategic leadership. By taking detailed study of some short-term and long-term factors, we conclude that our hypothesis H0 is proved right.

Introduction & Research question
The Algerian Salafist Group for Predication and Combat (GSPC) was an extremist organization. It was founded in 1998 to fight with the secular government in the Algeria. The group had changed its name after close affinity with the Al-Qaeda as Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM). Now AQIM has broaden its view and spread to Sahel and North Africa. Sometimes it is also called the franchise of Al-Qaeda in the North Africa. According to this organization, the government in the Algeria is not Islamic. It is serving the interest of US and its allies. They fight through different tactics like guerilla attacks, assassinations, suicide bombings and kidnapping. Its scope is today not limited to Algeria, but all in over the North Africa. The AQIM has direct and indirect presence in the Senegal, Mauritania, Mali, Burkina Faso, Algeria, Niger, Nigeria, Chad, Sudan, Ethiopia, and Eritrea. What are the serious threats posed by the AQIM in the North Africa? There are so many threats which North Africa will face in the future, if concrete steps are not taken to stop the spreading of AQIM. Some common threats like drug trafficking, smuggling, kidnapping, weaponization violence and extremism are the immediate threats. The economic, political, psychological, technological and other threats are futuristic in nature and are more dangerous.

Discussion Violence
AQIM supports violence in the region of Maghreb (Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Libya and Mauritania). The aim of AQIM is to set the pure Shahriah government in the region. The philosophy of AQIM is that, it is the Muslims' right to rule the region and regain the lost empire. They believe, the Spain and other countries which were Muslim in the past are the subject of our strategy. For this reason, they are disturbing the smooth functioning of the government. It is learned, the AQIM spend a huge amount in the Tunisia and Egypt. The local people were given money to demonstrate and strike against their governments. Moreover, the support of civil war in these countries was common. They were also provided all kinds of materials including modern weapons.
