A long-lived contributor to feminist literature, the English-Belgian poet Eleanore Marie "May" Sarton produced diaries, essays, fiction, and verse for some 65 years. A Belgian by birth, she emigrated with her parents from Wondelgem at age two during World War I and grew up in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
