Introduction

The Agricultural Wages Board (AWB) is an independent body with a statutory responsibility to alter minimum earnings for people enlisted in rural growers in England and Wales. The Board also has discretionary forces to decide other terms and situation of paid work, e.g. holidays and sick pay. It makes a lawfully binding alignment which is enforced by Defra.
