Introduction

Has the court's decision of brown Vs. Board of education solved the problems of racial discrimination in educational institutes in present? This in the question that comes in to a person's mind when he/she thinks of the decision of court around 60 years back relative to its present success in educational institutes. On 17th May 1954, an historical event was marked in the American history, when the court declared the establishment of public schools separately for white and black students as unlawful. The decision was counter to the case of Plessy v. Ferguson's decision in 1986. This case permitted isolation of white and black institutes as state-sponsored under the policy of 'separate but equal'. But in the brown v. Board of Directors, The isolated facilities were identified as essentially unequal. As a result, the decision of Plessy V. Ferguson case was seen as a violation of the equal protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment of U.S constitution. This paper discusses the inheritance of the decision for current students in schools.

Discussion

The primary issue that Brown was concerned about was the briefs presented in court that the segregation supported by the state resulted in psychological impact. The case argued that the physiological study reports of those times indicated that people subjected to discrimination, prejudice and legal segregation experienced many troubles directly as a result of segregation. These problems included hating oneself “defeatist attitudes”, being overloaded by the bad experience and experiencing lower educational aspirations and personal ambitions.

For today's students in schools, a meaning and implication of Browns argument should be devised in a constructive way to ensure that they don't experience the lower of personal and educational ambitions, which would get in to the personal goals of students in terms of education. In modern times, people from different races are integrated through educational institutes. It must be studied that what impact the students may have during and after the integration process of students from different races. The problem mentioned above leads us to the thesis statement.

The subject being studied here is Jada Williams. As a student aged 13, she wrote as essay comparing Frederick Douglass's difficulties in learning to read to the struggle of students of modern times. Later, it became difficult for her to deal with the reaction by teachers and some students (Hibbard. L, 2012). The three reasons for thesis are discussed in this paragraph. Due to the integration of students of different races in same educational institutes many problems may arise. This report discusses the three most important reasons for thesis. First problem is the selection bias. Here the biased persons avoid racial integration. Hence it's difficult to know that the studies conducted in the context of integration of diverse racial institutions. A second problem relating to the integration is that little is known about the aspects of environment that ...
