African American

Introduction

African Americans have been one of the most highlighted communities in European history. Literature is full of the contexts regarding African American communities however most of it is dominated by the bias factor hence African Americans are the least known people in world. The fear of Europeans about competition and comparison tends to be the main reason for the reluctance to accept them as an important element of World's history. Hence, ever since the beginning of history African scholars have had a huge duty to be performed. They have to make world acknowledge what colonialism and slavery snatched away basic human rights from African Americans and to do this, the African scholars must be academically trained enough to highlight the African history in world's literary contexts in order to spur the visions and perceptions of people to right direction. The perception and intellect of Africana scholars together with the theme of Africana Researches as an important combat zone for African self-determination was a main priority of Caruthers. Whilst he encouraged for broad-based engagement in this intellectual war, he visualized Africana scholars as featuring the crucial scholarly leadership to this movement.

Racial discrimination is one of the ugliest facts surrounding European approaches. It has been a recurring issue ever since Christopher Columbus discovered America. Starting from the days of slavery, then to civil war and through Jim Crow to Civil Rights Movement the African Americans and the nation of United States have been struggling with the issue of racism.

They started enslaving the Native Americans thinking that God has given superiority to them by making them white therefore the black people should serve them. Europeans were much more advanced in technology then natives therefore the racial discrimination began. Although the racial discrimination existed in United States but Jim Crow Law had significant effect in augmenting the racial discrimination. It became a manifested ugliness of society due to the legislation that directed the lives of African American towards virtually never ending racism.

Jacob H. Caruthers claimed that knowledge is directly connected with power. As a matter of fact, he contended that wisdom will always be styled with-in the ontology of the culture in question. This means that the formation of wisdom is in-extricably associated with the epistemological and to the structural footings of a community. Caruthers compared the Kemetic Ideal of Divine Speech with the European praxis of fundamental alienation. He claimed that the deviation of world-view brought with it substantial ramifications for the generation of knowledge and the organization of societies.

Caruthers claims that world-view is the approach in light of which humans envisions and evaluates the basic questions of organization and presence of the universe”. Considering this idea world-view is in-extricably connected with identity, social-organization, culture et cetera.

World-view is the epistemological bond that keeps cultural structures together. He argued that in the absence of an African ...
