Final Destination: Working Towards a Dream Position in the Aerospace Industry

Introduction

Aerospace Engineering is an area of engineering which studies the aircraft and includes the current areas of Aeronautical Engineering, which is related to the design and engineering of space vehicles. The original term was aeronautical engineering, but is replaced by a broader word "aerospace".

Aerospace engineer is responsible for calculating, designing, planning, enhance and modify mechanical equipment and systems used by the aerospace industry, including its production or manufacturing processes, and to assess, plan, manage, optimize and execute engineering projects a multidisciplinary context.

In addition, the aerospace engineering emphasizes on the integration of the entire mechanism which are essential for the development of an aerospace machine. These mechanisms and subsystems include communications, life support, power, thermal control and much more. Furthermore, it also focuses on their life cycle such as life, pressure design, radiation, temperature, and velocity. Apart from these, it primarily answers to the special issues and solutions in the area of aerospace engineering systems (McDavid, 2006).

Aerospace engineers are responsible for designing and manufacturing of aircrafts, satellites, missiles, and airports. Furthermore, they may also contribute in conducting the necessary research to assess and evaluate the equipments and materials which are used in the development of the space machines. In addition, aerospace engineers may also recommend plans for improvements in the evaluation of equipments and methods.

Almost all of the graduates find work during the first year after they graduate, and half of them even begin their professional career working at the highest level abroad.

Discussion

It has always been a dream for a man to fly high in the skies with increasing height. The aerospace industry has now become one of the biggest industries in the world. It is due to the efforts of the Wright Brothers, who managed to achieve what Icarus had not. Eventually, men fulfilled their dream to reach the skies and eventually the solar system. With the growth and development of this industry due to innovative technologies and inventions, the aerospace industry has now become part of our imaginations other than flight and aircrafts.

The developments and increasing demand of men to reach the skies has developed the way for aerospace engineering. It is the most crucial and essential part of the industry because there needs to be someone, who can create the technologically advanced aircrafts and space shuttles. It is the responsibility of an aerospace engineer to build, develop, and assess the mechanical creations in the form of aircrafts. In addition, this is the ultimate challenge for an aerospace engineer McCormick, 2004). Although, it might be a dream for everyone to fly or become a pilot, but it is an extremely demanding job and everyone cannot accomplish this dream. Therefore, if one fails to become a pilot, then there is always an option to build the machine. In order to become a aerospace engineer, it is important to acquire the essential qualifications and education in ...
