Introduction

This paper will be discussing a persuasive research paper on adoption in America. It is pro open adoption with reference to the closed adoption process. There are several types of adoption procedures that give people different options, either to those who decide to adopt a child or deliver a child for adoption. Each type of adoption is specific to a particular circumstance.

Types of Adoption

Adoption agency: agencies to assist mothers who want to give their children for adoption and work to find suitable adoptive parents for the child.

Related Adoption: Adoption by a relative which formally adopted the child in the event that the biological parents are deceased or unable to care for it.

Open Adoption: In an open adoption, the adoptive parents agree to allow the biological parent still has some contact with the child. An adoption agreement will determine how much contact they maintain the biological parents (Williams, 121).

Stepparent Adoption: In this case, the biological mother or biological father remarried and the stepmother or stepfather decides to adopt the child.

Private Adoption: A person can enlist the help of an adoption attorney to arrange a legal adoption without having to resort to an agency. Private adoptions can be more complicated, but in many cases, avoid long waiting lists of adoption agencies.

Discussion

Adoptive families and birth parents often bartered much information about themselves before the adoption happens. The information you give will be very important when your child is older and wants to know more about you. In some cases the biological parents have continuous contact with the adoptive family and may respond to questions from the child directly. This is called an open adoption (Rappaport, 54). A closed adoption is when there is no contact between birth parents and adoptive families. Some adoptive mothers strive to ensure that the right of a woman to raise her children does not go against the right of another to have them.

A solution, sometimes controversial, is that of open adoption, which is to raise the child so that it remains in contact with his biological mother and knows the circumstances that prevented it to look after him. Another blogger and writer, Dawn Friedman, said on his blog the opposite point of view since adopted her daughter, Madison, keeping contact with the biological mother of the child. It also advocates for a reform of adoption in the United States. She believes that in cases of unwanted pregnancies, the cells grow too easily support women to adopt their child without difficulty adequately inform the decision.
