The three services to be evaluated as part of this task include Administrative services, customer service and sales function.
The staff of administration is responsible for carrying out day to day transactions and tasks. The staff is required to collect, distribute and send other staff's mails and concerns by using integrated system. The aim of this department is to ensure that needs and concerns of all customers of Tesco are met in time. The company utilizes advanced technology such as presentations, seminars and training workshops to train employees of Tesco to manage complains and queries of customers professionally. These employees are required to serve customers quickly and politely.
The sales unit of the company is considered as a heart of Tesco, as the primary purpose of the company is to sell and promote its products and services to wide range of customers. The sales staff plays a vital role in guiding and serving customers who ever comes to store. The company won't be able to attain its goals without adequate and skilful sales staff. With the implementation of advanced technology and integrated software system, sales staff can keep track of sales records and check availability of stock. It allows them to arrange and organize sales promotions and deals effectively and update the records of customers. Tesco has also developed an online ordering and delivering service by using advanced technology that is processed via Internet. It serves the similar purpose as of online shopping (The Times 100, 2009, pp. 33-36).
1.2The administrative department in the company is considered as an interconnection among all units of Tesco. It processes all the necessary and routine tasks, documents and arranges meetings, seminars, workshops, campaigns etc within the organization on daily basis. The admin staff has an integral role to play in this regard and it is responsible for smooth operations of the organization.
