The purpose of this study is to expand the boundaries of the author's knowledge by exploring some relevant facts related to case study analysis of four organizations. In this paper, the author will assess the important elements within the context of their individual business strategies and chosen business models, and then determine which organization has the "best strategy and business model," that is, the organization "most likely" to reach their goals and achieve maximum success in terms of revenue growth, quality of care, patient satisfaction and long-term sustainability for the overall organization.
The four organizations that will be evaluated are HealthCare Partners, a medical group/independent practice association (IPA) in Los Angeles, Calif.; Monarch HealthCare, an IPA in Orange County, Calif.; Norton Healthcare, an integrated delivery system in Louisville, Ky.; and Tucson Medical Center, a community hospital working with independent provider groups in Tucson, Ariz (Aricca, 2012).
HealthCare Partners (HCP) is a healthcare organization that comprises of a large medical group, the organization currently operates in Los Angeles. The HCP is planning to develop Accountable care organization in which they plan to entail 1700 specialist and 1000 primary care physicians. With reference to elements within the context of HCP's individual business strategies and chosen business models, the organization has emphasized consistently over promotion and prevention of healthcare across Los Angeles. The management of HCP has also considered leadership as an integral component in achieving healthcare objectives. Apart from these strategies, HCP's business model also includes the effective use if HIT i.e. Health Information technology, integrated care management and care coordination, and effective development of relationships related to healthcare.
The second organization in the case study is Monarch HealthCare. It is another independent care organization that operates in the regions of Orange County. With regards to MHC's business strategies ...
