Introduction
The paper discusses the accountability of personnel in the situation of crisis or emergency. The responsibilities and duties of the managers in crisis management is also the part of the discussion. Management of emergency situations will address the consequences of a problem resulting for example from a natural disaster or caused by human action. The aim is to ensure emergency communications with uninterrupted flow of information the audience seemed to reduce risks and minimize the fear or anxiety. This may change crisis, when it is found that the government has no control over the situation (Aubrey, 2002).
Discussion
While crises and emergencies are often the result of factors other than unforeseeable event, it is often possible to identify in advance a crisis situation does not wait produce the cataclysm. Warning signs may indicate that it is modest time to take mitigation measures that can sometimes prevent crisis or emergency. Modern environment has become greatly increases the effect of work stoppages (Ashcroft, 1997).
Crises and emergency situations require careful preparation. Crises and emergencies are different from normal routine and business operations. In times of crisis and emergency managers and their staff often have to perform new tasks and unfamiliar operations to deal with the situation. All procedures, priorities, division of labor and resources are changed. In addition, crisis and emergency situations in general close cooperation with various organizations with which they do not normally interact. When an organization is a heat of the moment, there is very little time to negotiate who gets the responsibility for care in crisis or in an emergency. Therefore, like any other challenge, to manage crises and emergencies is to be expected and prepared, at least in general, we need to be prepared in advance responsibilities and procedures for crisis or emergency; experience shows that crises and emergencies are handled much more effectively if an organization is well prepared (Michael, 1995).
The credibility of your organization and even yours may be at stake if you are unprepared and, consequently, you do not manage properly the crisis or emergency.
